It is one of the richest rivers in France in terms of biodiversity and it joins the V\u00e9z\u00e8re at Limeuil, then the Garonne at the Bec d&#8217;Amb\u00e8s to become the Gironde up to the estuary of the same name. The Dordogne Valley is made up of castles, steep villages built on impressive rocky promontories, all very close to each other, for quality daily getaways, just a few minutes&#8217; drive
